Jamie Liang

Jamie Liang has over 19 years of experience in finance, investment banking, and management. Mr. Liang most recently served as a Managing Partner of Battlecat Energy Partners LP (BCEP), a Houston-based private equity firm focused on direct investments in the oil and gas sector. Prior to BCEP, Mr. Liang was a co-founder and the Chief Financial Officer of Battlecat Oil & Gas (BCOG), a private upstream operating company, up until its sale to a public company in 2017. At BCOG, he was responsible for all non-technical aspects of the company, including finance, accounting, business development, human resources, legal, regulatory, commercial, investor relations, and general administration. He has been involved in over $20 billion of transactions throughout his career. His previous experience encompasses debt and equity capital raising, project and structured finance, public finance, and mergers and acquisitions advisory. Prior to BCOG, Mr. Liang served as a Director at Bank of America Merrill Lynch (BAML), primarily focused on energy and infrastructure financings. While at BAML, he was responsible for originating and executing over $7 billion of structured natural gas transactions. Previously, Jamie was an Associate at UBS Investment Bank where he executed project financings in the infrastructure sector.

Mr. Liang is a member of the Houston Producer’s Forum, Houston Energy Finance Group, ADAM Houston, the Independent Petroleum Association of America, the CFA Society of Houston, and the CAIA Association. He is also involved in numerous charitable activities.

He serves or has served on the St. John’s School Alumni Board, the Rice University Annual Fund Committee, the Rice Alumni Volunteers for Admissions, and as the regional head of the Wharton Energy Network. He has also been a guest speaker at various events, including the Society for Petroleum Engineers Entrepreneurship Cell.

He received a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Rice University and a Master of Business Administration in Finance and Entrepreneurial Management from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
