Michael Kriegel

Michael Kriegel has extensive work experience in various roles within the software engineering field. Michael is currently employed as a Technical Lead at Blackford Analysis since 2021. Prior to this, they worked at Avaloq Innovation Ltd as a Software Architect from April 2018 to December 2020, and as a Senior Software Engineer from August 2015 to March 2018. Before Avaloq, they were employed at Toshiba Medical Visualization Systems (Europe) Ltd, where they held the positions of Senior Software Engineer from October 2013 to July 2015, and Software Engineer from September 2012 to September 2013. Michael also worked as a Researcher at Heriot-Watt University from March 2006 to August 2012, focusing on AI and computer science projects. Michael'searlier experience includes working as a Software Engineer at Helmholtz Zentrum Berlin from September 2001 to February 2006.

Michael Kriegel has a strong education background with a focus on computer science. Michael obtained a PhD in Computer Science from Heriot-Watt University, where they studied from 2006 to 2014. Before that, they earned an MSc in Virtual Environments from The University of Salford, completing their studies in 2005. Michael also holds a Dipl. Ing (BA) degree in Computer Science from Berufsakademie Berlin, which they completed in 2004.

In addition to their degrees, Michael has obtained several certifications to further enhance their skills and expertise. Michael is a Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional (CSSLP) from (ISC)², which they obtained in August 2022. Michael also holds an ISO 27001 Foundation - Information Security Certification from IBITGQ (International Board for IT Governance Qualifications), obtained in October 2021. Michael is a Certified Professional for Software Architecture Foundation Level from the iSAQB - International Software Architecture Qualification Board, achieved in May 2018. Furthermore, they are a Certified Ethical Hacker 9, certified by EC-Council in May 2017.
