David Schalk

David Schalk is the current SVP, Chief Lending Officer at Blackhawk Community Credit Union. Prior to joining Blackhawk, David was the President of DJS Consulting, a retail and wholesale mortgage and consumer lending company. David has over 17 years of experience in the financial industry and has been responsible for the development and management of over 50 employees. David is a expert in origination of conforming and non-conforming first and second lien mortgages, home equity lines of credit and interim financing products. David has also been responsible for the regulatory compliance of the mortgage and consumer lending company, including functioning as the primary liaison for auditors and examiners regulating a national bank and its subsidiaries (OCC). In addition, David has developed and monitored loan policy and credit administration, including product development, pricing and risk policy. David has also managed the residential and consumer loan portfolio, including troubled assets and the acquisition and liquidation of other real estate owned.

David Schalk received their undergraduate degree in economics and history from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
