Mikell A. M. has a diverse work experience spanning several industries.

In 2015, Mikell worked as a Crew Trainer at Checkers & Rally's Drive-In Restaurants, where they were responsible for training new crew members.

They also gained research experience as a Research Intern at the Kennedy Krieger Institute from 2015 to 2017. In this role, Mikell created paradigms to study the effectiveness of locomotive therapy on chronic stroke survivors, presented findings in team meetings, and assisted in conducting trials and analyzing data using MATLAB.

In 2019, Mikell became the Founder & Lead Designer of Étoile the Label, a lifestyle brand focused on freedom and individuality. They continued to lead this brand until at least May 2022.

Also in 2019, Mikell took on the role of Co-Executive Director at the USC Black Student Assembly. In this position, they oversaw programming and initiatives to create a supportive community for African American students and maintained relationships with committee members. This role ended in January 2020.

Starting in 2020, Mikell joined the AeroDesign Team of USC. They served as the Operations Team Lead, responsible for securing project funding, scheduling outside assets for team events, and managing the program budget. They then transitioned to the role of Propulsion Lead, where they researched, sized, selected, and tested propulsion components for the USC entrant into the AIAA Design, Build, Fly competition. This role involved analyzing propeller-motor pairs and determining ideal propulsion packages. Their time with the AeroDesign Team ended in May 2022.

In 2022, Mikell worked as an Engineering Intern at Applied Composites for a few months.

Most recently, Mikell joined Jacobs as an Aerospace Engineering Analyst in May 2022.

Mikell A. M. completed their education at the University of Southern California from 2018 to 2022. They graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering. Prior to attending USC, Mikell A. M. attended the Baltimore Polytechnic Institute from 2014 to 2018. While there, they studied engineering, although they did not receive a specific degree in this field.
