David Taylor

David Taylor has extensive work experience in the technology industry. David is currently working as the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at Blackout Technologies and Tomorrow's Student, starting in May 2022. Prior to this, they worked as the Head of Engineering at Play Sports Network from April 2019 to May 2022, where they played a crucial role in defining technical approaches and coordinating development efforts across different teams. Before that, David worked at Somo Ltd, starting in July 2015. At Somo Ltd, they held two roles, Technical Architect and Lead Android Developer. As a Technical Architect, they worked on delivering mobile and web applications for various clients, managed developers, and assisted in project staffing. As a Lead Android Developer, they actively developed Android mobile apps and oversaw a team of developers. David's earliest work experience was at QinetiQ, where they worked as a Senior Researcher from September 1999 to June 2015. At QinetiQ, they contributed to the development, testing, troubleshooting, and sales of optical technologies.

David Taylor completed their education with a PhD in Physics (Quantum) from the University of Bristol, where they studied from 2004 to 2009. Prior to that, they obtained an MPhys degree in Physics from the University of Southampton, attending from 1995 to 1999. Before their undergraduate studies, David completed their A-levels at Wootton Bassett School between 1993 and 1995. In addition to their academic qualifications, David Taylor also holds certifications as a Google Certified Associate Cloud Engineer, which they attained in October 2018, and as an AWS Solutions Architect Associate, which they obtained in August 2018.
