Sophia Hortsing-Perna

Sophia Hortsing-Perna has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Starting in 2011, they worked as an Administrative Assistant/Summer Student at guard.me International Insurance. In 2012, they served as a Services for Students Project Assistant at York University - PRASE Department.

From 2013 to 2017, Sophia worked at York University - Health Leadership & Learning Network (HLLN) as a Program Assistant. In this role, they managed marketing activities, maintained social media platforms, coordinated with program instructors and clients, and handled various administrative duties.

In 2016, Sophia had a placement position as an Assistant in Municipal Office Communications at the City of Toronto - Office of City Councillor Anthony Perruzza. Here, they coordinated events, managed social media platforms, created promotional materials, and conducted research.

In 2015, Sophia worked as a Sales Associate at Windergarden (Furniture and Home Decor). Sophia'sresponsibilities included developing a social media strategy, managing customer inquiries, assisting with sales, and handling point-of-sale functions.

Starting in 2017, Sophia worked at Le Creuset as a Sales Associate/Key Holder until 2019. Here, they provided exemplary customer service, managed store operations, and supported the Assistant Manager with administrative tasks.

Most recently, Sophia joined Blackstone Energy Services Inc. in 2019. Sophia initially served as a Program Support Associate, supporting various programs and coordinating with stakeholders. In 2019, they became a Project Management Coordinator, responsible for managing projects and assisting with coordination. Currently, they hold the role of Manager, Project Management Office, overseeing project management activities.

Sophia Hortsing-Perna completed their Bachelor of Arts (BA) Honours degree in Communication Studies at York University from 2012 to 2016. Following this, they pursued a Certificate of Completion in the Communications Field Experience Course: Corporate and Cultural, also at York University, from 2016 to 2017.
