Brendan Deneen

Brendan Deneen has extensive work experience in the publishing and entertainment industry. Brendan is currently serving as the Editor & Director of Media, TV and Film at Blackstone Publishing since July 2021. Prior to this, they worked at Assemble Media from June 2018 to June 2021, where they held the position of President of Literary and IP Development. From July 2016 to June 2018, they worked at Tor/Forge Books and Head of Macmillan Entertainment as an Executive Editor. Brendan also gained experience at Macmillan, where they served as an Executive Editor from January 2010 to June 2018. Before that, they worked as the Head of Film/TV Division and Editor at Macmillan Films and Thomas Dunne Books, a Division of St. Martin's Press, from January 2010 to December 2013. Prior to their roles at Macmillan, Brendan was a Literary Manager and Feature Film & Television Producer at Fineprint Literary Management from 2007 to 2010. Brendan also worked as the Director of Production & Development at The Weinstein Company/Dimension Films/Miramax Films from 2003 to 2007, and as a Story Editor at Scott Rudin Productions from 2001 to 2003. Brendan started their career in the industry as an Assistant Agent at William Morris Endeavor from 2000 to 2001.

Brendan Deneen obtained a Bachelor's degree in Secondary Education/English/Literature from the University of Scranton, where they studied from 1990 to 1995. Brendan also attended Glasgow Caledonian University from 1992 to 1993, but the degree obtained and field of study are unspecified.
