David Johnston

David Johnston is a Senior Managing Director in the IABC team within Blackstone Credit & Insurance, where they head the European Residential and Consumer Credit division, responsible for ABF strategies across Europe. Prior to this role, they served as a Principal at AB CarVal from 2024 to 2025, and held various positions at CarVal Investors, including Director of Loan Portfolios and Managing Director from 2013 to 2020. Earlier in their career, Johnston worked as an Associate at Jones Day and as a Trainee Solicitor at Mayer Brown, where they gained experience in banking and finance transactions. They earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economic History from the University of Exeter in 2000.
