Leonardo Gayoso, CFA, FRM has extensive experience in the financial industry, with a focus on risk management and portfolio management. Leonardo currently serves as the Vice President 1 of hedging and portfolio management at Banco Latinoamericano de Comercio Exterior S.A. (Bladex). Prior to this role, they held positions as a Senior Credit Risk Analyst and a Senior Market & Liquidity Risk Analyst at the same company.

Before joining Bladex, Leonardo worked as a Treasury Profitability Analyst at Banistmo and as a Treasury and Correspondent Banking Analyst at Banesco Panamá. Leonardo also gained experience at BBVA Banco Provincial as an Associate, where they were responsible for cash flow control, market analysis, and fixed income operations. Additionally, they served as a Market Risk Specialist, where their responsibilities included risk reporting, Monte Carlo VaR calculation, and interest rate risk analysis.

Earlier in their career, Leonardo worked as a Trader at Banfers S.A. and as a Day Trader at Sigma Trading and Strong Capital. These roles involved carrying out intraday operations and managing portfolios.

Throughout their career, Leonardo has demonstrated a strong understanding of financial markets, risk management techniques, and portfolio management strategies. Leonardo holds the CFA and FRM designations, further highlighting their expertise in the field.

Leonardo Gayoso, CFA, FRM completed their education with a Bachelor's degree in Economics from Universidad Central de Venezuela, where they studied from 2001 to 2008. Leonardo then pursued a Master's degree in Finance, General from Universidad de 'San Andrés' from 2010 to 2012. In addition, they specialized in Capital Markets from the same university in 2010 and 2011. Leonardo also holds the Certified Financial Risk Manager (FRM) certification from the GARP FRM Program, obtained in January 2021. Leonardo is currently in the process of completing the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.
