Angie Martinez has a diverse work experience in education, starting as a Teacher in Lower Yukon School District in 1987 and then moving to Southwest Region School District in 1992. Angie later transitioned to Blaine County School District in 1998, working as a Special Education Teacher and Reading Clinic Instructor before becoming a Principal in 2006. In 2013, they assumed the role of Director of Curriculum, Teaching & Learning. Additionally, Angie worked as a Human Learning Management Consultant at Lindamood-Bell Learning Processes from 1999 to 2006.

Angie Martinez completed a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary & Special Education from Idaho State University in 1987. Angie then went on to obtain a Master's in Educational Leadership with a focus on School Administration/Principalship from the University of Idaho from 2003 to 2005.
