Chase Ruffin is a partner in the firm’s personal injury practice group. Chase is passionate about helping injured clients and those who have lost a friend or family member. He believes in aggressive, compassionate representation to help clients get the compensation they deserve as quickly as possible while holding others accountable for their negligence.

Over the last five years, Chase has played a key role in the firm’s representation of hundreds of clients injured by defective surgical mesh devices sold by some of the largest corporations in the world. With Chase’s assistance, the firm has secured hundreds of millions of dollars in compensation for these clients.

In addition to representing clients in product liability cases, Chase also represents plaintiffs in cases involving medical malpractice, nursing home abuse, car and truck accidents, and dangerous property conditions. He has helped clients obtain fair compensation in cases involving surgical errors, severe pressure sores, commercial motor vehicle wrecks, motorcycle collisions, and nursing home falls. Since 2021, Chase has been recognized annually on the Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch® in America list in the fields of mass torts, medical practice, and personal injury.

Chase stays involved in both the legal and local communities. Chase is a member of the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association (“GTLA”), an organization of plaintiffs’ personal injury attorneys dedicated to protecting the rights of injured Georgians within the civil justice system. In 2023, Chase was selected as a member of the GTLA LEAD Program, which identifies and trains promising young trial lawyers for future leadership roles in GTLA and their communities. Chase also serves on the Board of Directors of ACC-SANE, Inc., an Athens-based non-profit that assists law enforcement with the investigation and prosecution of sexual assault cases, provides victim counseling, and educates the community through outreach efforts to prevent these crimes from occurring.

Before joining Blasingame, Burch, Garrard & Ashley in 2019, Chase worked for two large law firms in Atlanta and Macon, where he successfully represented clients in a wide variety of matters, including personal injury cases as well as business disputes, intellectual property disputes, eminent domain cases, and real estate disputes. Chase works hard to use his 10+ years of broad litigation experience to achieve outstanding results for the firm’s clients.

Chase graduated with honors from Georgia State University College of Law in 2013. During law school, Chase served on Georgia State’s Law Review and was a member of the Moot Court team. He also worked for both trial court and appellate judges, which provided him unique insight into how judges and their staff analyze and reach decisions in cases. Chase continues to use the insight gained during these experiences in his practice today.

Chase lives in Athens with his wife and their two young children. In his free time, Chase enjoys spending time with his family and cheering on the Georgia Bulldogs.
