Julie Simpson has a diverse work experience in event management and operations. Julie began their career in 2012 with Glasgow 2014 Limited, where they worked as a Venue Management/Operations Coordinator until 2014. In 2015, they joined England 2015 as an Accommodation & TSCC Operations staff for the Rugby World Cup. Julie then worked for Fuse Sport + Entertainment in 2016 as an Accommodation Cluster Manager for the UEFA Champions League Finals. Julie also had a role at UK Sport as a Major Events and International Relations Coordinator from 2016 to 2017. In 2017, Julie became the Venue Operations Manager for the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games Corporation. Julie continued working in event management at Glasgow 2018, where they served as an Event Manager for the European Swimming Championships. In 2018, they joined WorldSkills UK as a Content and Events Manager for WorldSkills UK LIVE. Most recently, Julie has been working at Race of Champions as an Operations Manager. Since 2019, they have been associated with BLAST, starting as an Event Operations Manager, then transitioning to a Senior Project Manager role, and currently serving as the Head of Events.
Julie Simpson obtained a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Marketing and Human Resources (HR) from the University of Strathclyde, where they studied from 2008 to 2012. In July 2020, they also obtained the PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP) certification from APMG International.
