Tom Burton

Tom Burton serves as the Head of Systems Engineering at Blatchford since January 2025, focusing on the development of advanced lower limb prosthetics and orthotics. Prior to this role, Tom was the Systems Engineering Manager at Stryker, leading efforts in next-generation wearable devices. Tom's experience includes significant contributions at McLaren Applied, where responsibilities included systems engineering and testing for medical devices and micromobility products. Previous positions also encompass leadership in medical technology at Armourgel, consultancy work at TTP, and research roles at Imperial College London and Bristol Robotics Lab. Tom holds a PhD in Medical Robotics from the University of Bristol and a BS in Physics, Space Science, and Robotics from Aberystwyth University.
