Matt McClain

Matt McClain has a diverse work experience in the field of sports journalism and communication. Matt is currently serving as the Director of Outreach and Communication at the Bleeding and Clotting Disorders Institute since 2022. Prior to this, they worked as a Sports Anchor/Reporter at WMBD-TV from 2017 to 2022, where they anchored sportscasts, reported on various sports, and wrote online stories.

Matt had also worked as an Assistant Sports Editor at Pekin Daily Times from 2016 to 2017, where they reported on high school athletics and determined the stories for publication. Additionally, they worked as a Sports Photographer/Producer at WEEK TV from 2015 to 2017, shooting highlights of local games, conducting athlete and coach interviews, and anchoring weekend sports segments.

In 2014, Matt gained experience as a Sports Intern/Field Producer at ABC7 Los Angeles, covering professional and collegiate sports events and conducting player and coach interviews, including prominent athletes like Kobe Bryant and Clayton Kershaw. Additionally, they interned as a Media Intern at Peoria Rivermen Hockey Club in 2013.

Prior to that, they held editorial roles at ICC Harbinger, serving as the Managing Editor and Sports Editor in different periods from 2011 to 2012. Matt began their career as a Sports Intern at Peoria Journal Star in 2010.
