Maximo Gurmendez

Maximo Gurmendez is a seasoned professional in engineering and data science with extensive experience in academia and industry. Currently serving as Senior Vice President of Engineering at Blend since January 2024, Maximo also holds the position of Director for the Data Science for Business BSc. Degree and Professor at Universidad de Montevideo. Prior to that, Maximo founded and led Montevideo Labs, a consultancy recognized for providing data science solutions to Fortune 500 companies. Maximo's career includes significant roles at dataxu, where contributions as a Data Science Engineering Consultant and Team Lead notably advanced programmatic marketing through data-driven insights. Early in the career, Maximo gained foundational experience as a Technology Coordinator and Computer Science Teacher at The British Schools in Uruguay. Academic achievements include a M.S. in Computer Science from Northeastern University and an Engineer's degree in Computer Science from Universidad de la República.
