RAJASTHAN ROYALS
Rajasthan Royals, a cricket team in the Indian Premier League (IPL), was founded in 2008 as one of the initial eight IPL city -based franchises. Owned by Manoj Badale and chaired by Ranjit Barthakur, the team had won the IPL tournament in its inaugural season in 2008 by defeating Chennai Super Kings. The team was the runner-up in the 2013 season under Rahul David’s captaincy.
The Royals brand stands for resilience, commitment and intensity and never say die attitude. Ever since their inception, the Royals’ have been in the forefront in terms of nurturing and promoting new talent. These qualities have made the Rajasthan Royals the most loved team and enabled to it emerge as the first global sporting brand from India. In addition to being famous for unearthing and promoting obscure talent, the Royals are known for being innovators and pioneers.
We have the distinction of being:
– The first team to lift an IPL trophy in 2008
– The first team to have a Shane Warne as its overseas captain and coach
– The first team to have multiple home grounds in Jaipur and Ahmedabad
– The first team to play two exhibition games in the UK
– The first team to have a home and away kit

The first player to win the Most Valuable Player award in an IPL and the one to win this award the maximum number of times in the history of the IPL was again a Royal – Shane Watson. We were also the first team to chase down a record IPL score of 217, a feat that stands unbroken to this day. For all these reasons, the Rajasthan Royals are rightly known as a team of firsts, and this extends to the digital realm as well – we were the first team to broadcast a designated YouTube Channel in November 2008 and to launch an electronic tablet in 2013.
