Ken Dewar

Chief Executive Office at Blenkhorn Kirkwood

Ken’s passion is to work with clients collaboratively and professionally to provide them a trusted, informed and educated opinion. He has skills that encompass all areas of financial advice including the latest industry and regulatory knowledge and expertise. His interest in financial management began in his childhood where he was heavily influenced by his Scottish father who had an aptitude for figures that he passed on to his son. The Kirkwood name comes from his Scottish roots.

Ken began his career at a top funds management firm and then worked for several prestigious wealth management companies. From there he moved to a role as a Private Client Adviser at one of Australia’s premier private wealth firms. Ken’s 20 years with the top wealth management companies and boutique ethical advice firm has provided him with invaluable experience. It was through this experience Ken realised he could run his own advice practice in a way that puts clients first to help them achieve their financial goals and successful lifestyle outcomes.

When the opportunity arose for Ken to join the Blenkhorns he was excited at the chance to become a part-owner and Director of what is now Blenkhorn Kirkwood. Ken’s early focus on maintaining a high standard of education has seen him achieve a Bachelor of Business (Marketing & Finance), a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investment, a Master of Commerce (Financial Planning), a Master of Taxation, and he is a Certified Financial Planner. He also has further specialist accreditations in the areas of Self-Managed Super Funds and Margin Lending. Ken is married and has a young son who helps keep him fit. He enjoys spending time with his family, travelling, along with good food and wine.
