Kylie FitzGerald has a diverse work experience. Kylie is currently the Director of Communications at the Blinded Veterans Association (BVA), a position they started in September 2021. Prior to that, they worked at BVA as a Communications and Development Assistant from April 2019 to March 2021.

Before joining BVA, Kylie was a Bookseller and Newsstand Lead at Barnes & Noble, Inc. from September 2018 to April 2019. In this role, they multitasked and maintained flexibility while assisting customers and managing store needs.

Kylie also has experience in the field of editing and journalism. Kylie served as the AURA Literary Magazine Short Story Editor at The University of Alabama at Birmingham from October 2015 to April 2016. During this time, they edited and selected stories for publication in both the magazine and online platforms. Additionally, Kylie worked as an Online Editor for the student newspaper, where they managed the website, updated important stories weekly, and wrote articles as required from August 2015 to December 2015.

In 2015, they interned as a Property Intern at Yulista Aviation, Inc., assisting with inventory organization and correction of mistakes, as well as stock management and shipping assistance. Kylie also briefly worked as a Flow Team Member at Target.

Kylie started their professional journey as a Football Athletic Training Assistant at The University of Alabama at Birmingham from August 2014 to December 2014, building valuable skills in the athletic training field.

Kylie FitzGerald completed their education from 2011 to 2013 at Columbia High School, where they obtained an Advanced High School Diploma. Following their high school education, from 2013 to 2017, they pursued a Bachelor's Degree in English Literature at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Kylie later continued their studies at the same university, graduating in 2016 with a Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Literature. In 2018, Kylie FitzGerald attended Auburn University for a brief period, earning a Certificate in Marketing.

Our Mission: “To promote the welfare of blinded veterans so that, notwithstanding their disabilities, they may take their rightful place in the community and work with their fellow citizens toward the creation of a peaceful world. “To preserve and strengthen a spirit of fellowship among blinded veterans so that they may give mutual aid and assistance to one another. “To maintain and extend the institution of American freedom and encourage loyalty to the Constitution and laws of the United States and of the states in which they reside.”
