Athar Zia

Athar Zia is the CEO of BLKBOX.ai, a position they have held since May of 2020.

Prior to their current role, Athar was with Facebook from February of 2017 until May of 2020. During their time at Facebook, Athar served as a Client Solutions Manager for Gaming where they were responsible for managing some of the largest advertisers in North America. In this role, Athar also grew a key account to become the 8th largest advertiser across all of Facebook. In addition to their day-to-day responsibilities, Athar also led North American and Global Gaming task forces focused on product improvements, game launch strategies, ad signals, and cross border business strategies. Finally, Athar also served as a mentor and coach for account teams across various industries including gaming, ecommerce, real estate, and more.

Before their time at Facebook, Athar was with AppDynamics from August of 2015 until February of 2017. During their time at AppDynamics, Athar served as a Senior Analyst on the Incentives Strategy and Analytics team where they focused on statistical analysis. In 2017, Cisco announced its intent to acquire AppDynamics for $3.7 billion.

Athar Zia has a masters in econometrics, predictive modeling and business analytics from the University of Waterloo. Athar also has a Bachelor of Science in Honours Kinesiology and Exercise Science from the University of Waterloo. Athar is certified in team building and team development from GCA Productive Consulting and Training Ltd. and is a certified associate in project management candidate from the Project Management Institute. Athar is also a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Candidate from ASQ.
