Hang Chen

Hang Chen, CFA, currently serves in Data Science at Block since 2022. Prior to this role, Hang Chen was a Senior Data Scientist at the Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan from 2019 to 2022, focusing on data science and machine learning in investment applications. Between 2017 and 2019, Hang Chen worked as a Manager of Decision Sciences at Scotiabank, where responsibilities included end-to-end machine learning solutions and data-driven strategies. Earlier experience includes a Data Scientist position at Moneris from 2015 to 2017, contributing machine learning solutions for various business lines, and a Research and Teaching Assistant role at the University of Toronto from 2012 to 2014. Hang Chen holds a Master of Applied Science in Mechanical and Industrial Engineering from the University of Toronto, a CFA Level III completion from the CFA Institute, and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Huazhong University of Science and Technology.
