Weiwei Li

Weiwei Li is a Senior Machine Learning Engineer at Block since July 2022, focusing on building machine learning models to detect financial crimes. Prior to this role, Weiwei served as a Data Scientist II at Amazon from June 2020 to July 2022, where responsibilities included developing machine learning models for keyword recommendations for sponsored products. Weiwei also worked as a Senior Data Scientist at The Globe and Mail from April 2018 to June 2020, creating an end-to-end content-based news article recommendation system and employing natural language processing for content mining. Earlier experience includes a Data Scientist position at Scotiabank from January 2017 to April 2018. Weiwei holds a PhD in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the City University of Hong Kong, a Master's degree in Computer Science from the University of Toronto, and a Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics and Communications Engineering from Harbin Institute of Technology.
