Marta Belcher

Marta Belcher serves as the President and Chair of the Filecoin Foundation and the Filecoin Foundation for the Decentralized Web, positions held since 2020. In addition, Marta is the Board President and a Board Member of the Blockchain Association and a Board Member of the Crypto Council for Innovation, Creative Commons, and the Zcash Foundation. As General Counsel and Head of Policy at Protocol Labs since February 2019, Marta also provides services as Outside General Counsel. Marta has contributed to the Electronic Frontier Foundation as Special Counsel since 2020 and previously served as an attorney at Ropes & Gray LLP focusing on blockchain and emerging technologies. Marta holds a J.D. from Stanford Law School, where Marta was the commencement speaker, and a B.A. summa cum laude in Rhetoric from the University of California, Berkeley. Additional education includes study at Freie Universität Berlin.
