Matteo Bjornsson

Matteo Bjornsson has a diverse work experience. Matteo started as an Operations Manager at Botanie Soap Inc. in 2016, where they oversaw production and fulfillment and managed a team of 8 employees. In 2018, they worked as a Youth Trail Crew Expedition Leader at Montana Conservation Corps, leading a team of high school students and teaching them various skills.

In 2020, Matteo had an internship as a Software Engineer at onXmaps, Inc., where they contributed to a legacy code base and implemented features to improve service coupling. Matteo used technologies like Elixir, CQRS/ES framework, GRPC, and Google Pubsub messaging for communication between services.

From 2019 to 2022, they worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at Gianforte School of Computing, Montana State University. Matteo instructed classes, provided supplementary instruction and office hours, and received the Best Graduate Teaching Assistant of the Year award.

Most recently, in 2022, Matteo joined BLOCKY as a Software Engineer.

Matteo Bjornsson pursued their education in a chronological manner. Matteo obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Physics from Vassar College, attending from 2011 to 2015. Following this, Matteo enrolled at Montana State University-Bozeman, where they completed their Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Computer Science between 2019 and 2022. Additionally, they have earned certifications in Wilderness First Responder from Aerie Backcountry Medicine in March 2019, and in Adult and Child CPR/AED from the same institution in May 2018.
