Michelle Blackmon has over eighteen years of work experience, beginning in 2001 as a Senior Auditor at Ernst & Young. Michelle then moved to Washington Mutual in 2005 as a Senior Accounting Analyst, where they were responsible for managing the high-risk repurchase reserves. In 2007, they were promoted to Accounting Manager 1 at Washington Mutual. In 2010, they were a Summer Associate at Stoel Rives LLP, where they specialized in creating and managing Public Benefit Corporations. In 2011, they were promoted to Associate at Stoel Rives LLP, where they represented a variety of clients in various types of corporate transactions and drafted diverse corporate documents. In 2014, they moved to American Financial Solutions as the Director of Regulatory Compliance. In 2015, they worked as a Contract Attorney at Peterson Russell Kelly PLLC. In 2016, they moved to Kitsap Mental Health Services as the Chief Financial Officer. Most recently, in 2019, they became the Director of Accounting at Blokable, LLC.

Michelle Blackmon obtained their J.D. from Seattle University School of Law between 2008 and 2011. Michelle then obtained their Masters from the University of Virginia in 2002, and their Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of California, Berkeley between 1997 and 2001. In 2011, they were certified as a lawyer by the Washington State Bar Association, and in 2006 they were certified as a Certified Public Accountant by the California Board of Accountantcy.
