Philip Scholten has extensive work experience in the field of biomaterials and circular economy. Philip currently works at Bloom Biorenewables as the Chief Innovation Officer, where they are responsible for supervising R&D activities, upscaling processes, overseeing production, and managing business interactions with customers. Prior to this, they served as a Team Leader in the biomaterials section, where they led technical projects and collaborated with external partners for upscaling and process optimization. Philip also worked as a Lead Scientist at Bloom Biorenewables.

Philip Scholten completed their education as follows:
1. From 2016 to 2019, Philip Scholten attended the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) and the University of Liège, where they pursued a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD. Their field of study was Chemistry for both institutions, with a focus on Polymer Chemistry at the University of Liège.
2. From 2011 to 2015, Philip Scholten studied at the University of Warwick, where they obtained a Master's degree in Chemistry.
3. Prior to their university studies, from 2006 to 2011, Philip Scholten attended the International School of Nice. Philip completed the International Baccalaureate program, which served as their secondary school education.
In addition to their degrees, Philip Scholten obtained several additional certifications. In July 2015, they earned a Master of Chemistry from the University of Warwick.
