Phil Mogen

Phil Mogen has extensive experience in the field of tax, particularly in international tax planning and compliance. Phil started their career at KPMG in 1997 as a Senior Associate, and later became a Senior Manager and then a Principal in KPMG's San Francisco International Tax Practice. During their time at KPMG, Phil advised multinational corporations on international tax matters and designed tax structures for various industries.

In 2016, Phil joined Uber as the Sr. Director of Global Tax Planning and Strategy. In this role, they managed a team responsible for M&A, product tax advice, audits and controversy, transfer pricing, and global tax planning. Phil also coordinated with global teams in over 60 countries. Phil held this position until 2022.

Currently, Phil works at Bloom Energy as the Head of Tax, a role they started in December 2022.

Phil Mogen has a strong education history in the field of law. Phil received their Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree in Taxation from Georgetown University Law Center from 1995 to 1997. Prior to that, they obtained their Doctor of Law (J.D.) degree from the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law from 1991 to 1994. Phil completed their undergraduate education at The Ohio State University from 1989 to 1991, earning a B.A. with University Honors. Phil Mogen is also a member of the District of Columbia Bar.
