Siddharth Patel

Principal Engineer at Bloom Energy

Siddharth Patel started their work experience in 2007 as a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Maryland, College Park, where they focused on fabricating and testing solid oxide fuel cells. Siddharth also conducted extensive characterization using SEM, EDX, and XRD techniques and simulated SOFCs using electrochemical models in MATLAB.

In 2010, Siddharth joined SuryaGen Renewable Energy Pvt. Ltd. as a Lead Engineer. Siddharth led a team of engineers in developing solar-powered stirling engines for household and rural applications. Siddharth also implemented frugal engineering concepts to create innovative technological solutions powered by solar energy.

Since 2011, Siddharth has been working at Bloom Energy. Siddharth initially served as a Senior Engineer from 2011 to 2013 before transitioning to the role of Staff Engineer in Reliability Testing until 2018. From 2018 to 2021, Siddharth held the position of Senior Staff Engineer, specializing in Mechanical Design. Currently, they hold the role of Principal Engineer at the company.

Siddharth Patel's education history includes a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, which they obtained from 2001 to 2006. Siddharth then pursued a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Maryland from 2007 to 2009. In 2020, Siddharth attended the New Manager Bootcamp at the University of California, Berkeley, Haas School of Business, and also studied Machine Learning at Stanford University. Siddharth has also obtained certifications in Certified Solidworks Associate from Dassault Systèmes and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) courses from Engineer Essentials in 2021.
