Foekje Croles

Foekje Croles began their work experience as an Attorney-at-law at Kennedy Van der Laan from January 2001 to October 2004. Foekje then joined eBay, where they served as the Legal Counsel for eBay.nl and Marktplaats.nl from January 2005 to March 2006. Following that, they became the Manager and Head of Legal for eBay's Northern Europe business, responsible for all legal work, government relations, and trust and safety matters for the Netherlands and Denmark from March 2006 to September 2009. Foekje then became the Senior Manager and Head of Legal for eCG Europe, overseeing regulatory, commercial, and product compliance work for the EU-based businesses of eBay Classifieds Group from September 2009 to April 2012. During their time at eBay, they also served as the Director and Head of Legal for eBay Classifieds Group Europe, acting as the general counsel for eBay's EU businesses from April 2012 to July 2016.

In 2017, Foekje Croles joined Bloom & Wild as the Head of Legal, contributing to the company's disruptive approach to the flower industry through the creation of seasonal collections and unique flower arrangements. Foekje then transitioned to Aidence in July 2019, where they assumed the role of General Counsel. At Aidence, a venture capital-backed startup, they provided advice and coordination on contracting, data protection, life sciences, insurance, employment, and corporate matters, as part of their mission to transform healthcare through AI applications for automated medical image analysis. Their role at Aidence concluded in October 2021.

Foekje Croles attended the University of Cape Town in 1998 for an exchange program, where they studied Law and History. From 1993 to 1999, they pursued their LL.M degree in law at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VU Amsterdam). In 1999, they furthered their education at UCL, where they earned another LL.M degree in International Business Law. Foekje then took a Data Protection Officer Course at Considerati from 2016 to 2017. Finally, in 2017, they attended Grotius Academie for studies in Information Technology Law.
