Emily Maletic McGrath

Emily Maletic McGrath has over 13 years of experience in the education field. Emily began their career in 2008 as a 6th and 8th Grade Science Teacher at Livaudais Middle School. In 2010, they moved to ReNEW Schools Charter Management Organization as a Lead Science Teacher, where they managed the science department of grades 3-5 and created curriculum and assessments for the entire district. Emily also acted as behavior intervention manager and won a "Whatever It Takes" award. In 2016, Emily became the Director of Primary Science and Computer Science at KIPP New Orleans, where they spearheaded all activities related to science and computer science curriculum, coaching and leadership. Emily then moved to KIPP Foundation as a Consultant in 2017, where they provided training on elementary computer science at a national KIPP conference and coordinated the writing of key curriculum for computational thinking units. In 2018, Emily began working as a Computer Science Teacher at Frederick Douglass High School, where they provided coding and robotics instruction to a diverse student population. Most recently, in 2021, Emily joined BloomBoard, Inc. as an Education Content Development Specialist (STEM).

Emily Maletic McGrath obtained their Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Anthropology from the University of Michigan in 2008. In 2015, they received a Teacher Leader Fellowship from Leading Educators and is also certified as a Highly Qualified Secondary Biology Teacher from The New Teacher Project's Practitioner Teacher Program.
