Julien GOURMELEN

Julien GOURMELEN has a diverse work experience in the field of DevOps and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE). Julien started their career in 2007 at SFR, where they worked in various roles such as Chef de projet, Architecte Logiciel, Ingénieur Télécom, and Apprenti Ingénieur Support. In 2018, they joined SFR Business as a DevOps Engineer.

In 2019, Julien worked as a Lead DevOps at Coopengo, where they had responsibilities as a Tech Lead for DevOps developments. Julien played a key role in implementing infrastructure as code using AWS, Terraform, and Kubernetes. Julien also designed and implemented CI/CD using Jenkins in a containerized environment. Julien worked on a project to overhaul the security of the cloud infrastructure.

Julien then moved on to Cardiologs in 2021 as an Ingénieur DevOps. In the same year, they had roles as a DevOps/SRE at both Epiconcept and Metronome.

In 2020, they joined Startup Flow as the Head of Site Reliability Engineer. Julien led a complete overhaul of the legacy infrastructure to a Kubernetes-based infrastructure. Julien deployed Hashicorp Vault for credential management and developed an infrastructure as code (IAC) project using Terraform modules.

Julien's most recent position is Expertise DevOps multi-cloud at Padam Mobility, starting in February 2022. In this role, they provided expertise in Kubernetes under AWS and developed Terraform projects for Kubernetes infrastructure under OVH. Julien also developed Helm charts for automated deployment of development environments.

In March 2022, Julien joined TEKYN, where they specialize in Infrastructure AWS.

Throughout their career, Julien has gained extensive experience in technologies such as Kubernetes, Terraform, Linux, AWS, Helm, Jenkins, and several scripting languages.

Julien GOURMELEN attended Télécom Lille from 2007 to 2010, where they obtained a degree in Ingenieur Télécoms & Réseaux with a specialization in Administration de / administrateur réseaux et systèmes. Before that, they studied at IUT de Blois from 2005 to 2007, earning a DUT in Réseaux & Télécommunications. In 2019, Julien attended Global Knowledge Netherlands for a short course on VMware vSphere 6.7 : Installation, Configuration et Administration. Julien also pursued further education in scripting and programming, completing courses in Ecriture de scripts en shell, sous Unix / Linux and Python, programmation objet at Orsys in 2013. Julien obtained their Baccalauréat Général Scientifique from Lycée Notre-Dame de Chartres in 2005 and completed their secondary education at Collège Notre-Dame in 2002. Additionally, Julien is currently enrolled at Conservatoire à Rayonnement Communal de Musique et de Danse (CRCMD) de Houilles, where they are pursuing a degree in an undisclosed field.
