Annameekee Hesik

Annameekee Hesik is an experienced educator currently working as an English Teacher at Bloomington Public Schools District 87 since January 2024. Prior to this role, Annameekee was an Educator at Vallejo City Unified School District and the Coordinator of Academic Achievement and Student Life at Headlands Preparatory School, where responsibilities included developing learning plans, supporting faculty professional development, and teaching executive functioning skills. Annameekee also has a significant background in writing Young Adult LGBT Literature, with the debut novel, The You Know Who Girls, winning the Benjamin Franklin Independent Publishers Silver Award. Previous roles include 11th and 12th Grade English Teacher at Los Gatos High School, where Annameekee was recognized as Teacher of the Year, and various teaching positions at North Monterey County High School and Middle School. Annameekee holds a BA in English and Creative Writing and a Master's degree in Secondary Education from the University of California, Santa Cruz.
