Ian Hudson

Ian Hudson has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning over several decades.

Ian'smost recent position is as the Executive Director and Managing Director of Consumer Publishing at Bloomsbury Publishing Plc, starting in January 2021.

Prior to that, they served as a Non-Executive Director and Chair of Audit and Risk Committee at Which? since November 2015.

Ian was a Supervisory Board member (Non-Executive Director) at Bertelsmann SE & Co KGaA from 2008 to May 2020.

From 2016 to April 2020, they were the Chief Executive Officer at DK.

Ian Hudson held multiple roles at Penguin Random House, including Chief Executive of Penguin Random House International, Deputy Chief Executive of Penguin Random House UK, and member of the Group Executive Committee from 2013 to 2020.

Ian served as the President and Council Member at The Publishers Association from 2002 to 2014.

During their time at Random House Group, they held various positions such as Deputy Chief Executive, Group Managing Director, Group Commercial Director, and Deputy Group Finance Director from 1992 to 2013.

Ian also served as the Chairman of TBS Distribution from 1998 to 2006.

Before that, they worked at Marshall Cavendish as the European Director and Financial Controller from 1988 to 1992.

Ian Hudson started their career at British Rail as a Financial Accountant and later became a Management Accountant at Red Star Parcels from 1985 to 1988.

Ian Hudson obtained their Chartered Institute of Management Accountants professional qualification in Accounting and Finance from the University of Derby, which they attended from 1981 to 1985. Prior to that, they attended Queen Elizabeth's Grammar School in Gainsborough from 1974 to 1981. In 1986, they became a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants.
