Professor Alessandro Benati

Professor Alessandro Benati currently serves as a Professor at University College Dublin since August 2023 and has held multiple prominent academic roles, including Visiting Honorary Professor and Director of CAES at The University of Hong Kong since June 2020, and Visiting Professor at Anaheim University since May 2020. Benati is the Chief Editor of Cambridge Elements in Second Language Acquisition at Cambridge University Press and holds editorial positions at various publishing houses, including Equinox Publishing Ltd and Bloomsbury Publishing Plc. In addition, Benati is a member of the REF Panel Unit of Assessment 26 for Modern Languages and Linguistics and has served as an Honorary Visiting Professor at York St. John University since December 2016. With an academic background that includes a PhD in Applied Linguistics from the University of Greenwich, alongside an MSc in Educational Management, Benati has a substantial foundation in language studies and education.
