Abbey Lakin

Abbey Lakin, CPA has over 10 years of experience in the accounting and finance industry. Abbey began their career in 2011 as a Staff in the Tax Services Group at Greenwalt CPAs, Inc. where they were later promoted to Senior in the Tax Services Group and then Manager in the Tax Services Group and part of the Firm's Manufacturing and Distribution Services Group. In 2015, they moved on to Katz, Sapper & Miller as an In-Charge in the Business Advisory Group East. In 2017, they became a Senior Tax Accountant at Republic Airways. In 2021, they joined Coinme as a Controller where they were passionate about the crypto and blockchain technology industry. Abbey was responsible for leading the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing process, supervising the daily accounting operations, preparing financial statements for external audits, regulatory reporting/inquiries, and management reporting, leading the annual financial statement audit, and more. In 2022, they joined Bloq as Vice President Finance and Controller.

Abbey Lakin attended Westfield High School from 2001 to 2005. Abbey then transferred to the University of Tennessee, Knoxville from 2005 to 2007. Abbey completed their Bachelor of Science (BS) in Accounting from Ball State University in 2010. In 2012, Abbey obtained their Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification from the Indiana Board of Accountancy.
