Paul Kiely

Paul Kiely has over 25 years of experience in the field of information security and IT. Paul most recently served as the Senior Director of Information Security Operations and Security Architecture at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts. Prior to that, they held positions as the Director of Information Security at Akili Interactive, Director of IT Security at Pegasystems, and Senior Manager of Information Security Operations at athenahealth, Inc. Paul also worked as the IT Network and Security Manager at The Monitor Group and as a Systems and Security Architect at CMGi. Earlier in their career, Paul held various positions such as Systems and Network Engineer at Addison Wesley Longman/Pearson Education, Senior Systems Engineer at Houghton Mifflin Company, and UNIX Systems Administrator at Education Loan Services Incorporated.

Paul Kiely has a diverse education history. Paul obtained a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Computer Information Systems from Boston University in the academic year 2008-2009. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Computer Science from the Wentworth Institute of Technology, attending from 1984 to 1989.

In addition to their formal education, Paul Kiely has also acquired several certifications. Paul obtained the AWS Certified Security - Specialty certification from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in November 2020. Paul also achieved the AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate certification in December 2018. Paul Kiely holds the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification from (ISC)², which they obtained in November 2012. Furthermore, they earned the Certified HIPAA Professional certification from ecfirst in May 2019.
