Carey Pope has extensive experience in communications, currently serving as Communications Team Lead and Principal Communications Advisor at Blue Cross NC since May 2017. In this role, Carey manages communication strategies and executive messaging for the COO and the leadership team. Prior to Blue Cross NC, Carey worked as Senior Communications Advisor at Ipas, providing strategic communications support to global teams, and as Executive Director for NARAL Pro-Choice North Carolina, leading initiatives for reproductive health rights. Additional experience includes managing communications at Bering Omega Community Services and serving as a Public Affairs Coordinator at Mental Health America. Carey holds a Master of Arts in Public Policy from The George Washington University and a Bachelor of Arts in English from North Carolina State University.
