Tarah Provencal

Tarah Provencal has a diverse and extensive work experience. Tarah currently holds the position of Director of Health Equity at Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Rhode Island, a role they started in April 2022. Prior to this, they were the Director of Policy at the same company from June 2020 to April 2022.

Before their time at Blue Cross & Blue Shield, Tarah served as the Vice Chairwoman of the Board at Warwick Board of Public Safety from January 2019 to March 2021. Tarah also worked at the RI Executive Office of Health and Human Services as the Associate Director of Interagency Legislative and Regulatory Policy from October 2016 to June 2020.

Tarah's previous experience includes roles such as Associate Director for Planning, Policy, & Regulation at RI Office of the Health Insurance Commissioner from September 2014 to October 2016, Prosecutor at Massachusetts Department of Public Health from January 2011 to August 2013, and Director of Gubernatorial Affairs at Governor's Office from May 2010 to January 2011.

Tarah also has experience in campaign management as the Director of Campaign Schedule for Mike Capuano for US Senate in 2009. In addition, Tarah has worked at Pfizer Pharmaceuticals as a Sales Representative from October 2006 to April 2009, where they received recognition as Rookie of the Year and District of the Year in 2007.

Furthermore, they gained legal experience as a Legal Intern at the New England Patriots in 2004, where they assisted the General Counsel with drafting agreements and tracking corporate policies. Tarah also worked as a Legal Intern at the Office of Senator Steven A. Baddour in 2003, where they collaborated with the General Counsel on budget proposals and monitored budget related issues.
