Derek Spinks

Derek Spinks currently serves as the Head of Individual Giving at Blue Cross UK since August 2023. Prior to this role, Derek held various positions at Cerebra, where responsibilities included Marketing and Communications Manager, as well as Fundraising Manager for Individual Giving and Legacy, from April 2019 to August 2023. Earlier experience includes senior management roles at Birmingham St Mary's Hospice from April 2015 to April 2019, with titles such as Senior Individual Giving and Legacy Manager and Direct Marketing Manager. Derek's career began at PDSA, where from June 2007 to August 2014, roles included Campaign Manager and Assistant Campaign Manager for Regular Giving, as well as Marketing Executive. The professional journey started at Lyreco UK and Ireland as a Marketing Assistant from August 2005 to June 2007. Derek holds a DIP IDM in Direct and Interactive Marketing from The Institute of Direct and Digital Marketing and a BSc (Hons) in Advertising and Media Technology from the University of Lincoln.
