Sofia Varela

Sofia Varela is an experienced professional in the fields of education, robotics, and psychopedagogy. Currently serving as a Formadora en Robótica at Ceibal, Varela is part of the Educational Robotics team and manages a national project on Computational Thinking for seventh-grade computer science. As Partner Director at Young Engineers Montevideo, Sofia promotes STEM education, utilizing practical activities with Legos and motors. Additional roles include teaching extracurricular robotics workshops at Instituto Crandon and serving as a Spanish translator and curricular designer for a British educational platform. Varela has a background as a psychopedagogue with experience in neuropsychological evaluations and treatments, alongside positions as a children's programming educator and teaching aspirant. With relevant educational credentials, including a postgraduate degree in TICS and Education and a Bachelor of Psychopedagogy, Sofia has developed a strong foundation in integrating technology and education.
