The Blue Gate Hospitality Group is owned and operated by the Riegsecker family; and located in the third largest Amish community in America! The business was started by Mel Riegsecker in the garage of his home in 1980, where he made miniature horse-drawn carriages, buggies and other vehicles for sale. The company has since grown into Blue Gate Hospitality; with 8 operating businesses including The Blue Gate Restuarant & Bakery, The Blue Gate Theatre, Shipshewana Craft Barn, Shipshewana Furniture Co., Traditions by Shipshewana Furniture, Blue Gate Tours, Blue Gate Carriage Company, and The Blue Gate Garden Inn. Shipshewana is a tourist destination, and Blue Gate is right in the middle of it! Blue Gate Hospitality strives for excellence in all aspects of the company, including providing guests with a unique and wonderful experience in Amish country.
