Celine Herweijer

Celine Herweijer currently serves as the Group Chief Sustainability Officer and Group Executive at HSBC, where responsibilities include participation in the HSBC Group Executive Committee and co-chairing the HSBC Group ESG Committee. Celine Co-Chairs WE MEAN BUSINESS and has been a member of the Board of Trustees for the Blue Marine Foundation since June 2020. Previous experience includes a Partner and Global Sustainability and Innovation Leader role at PwC, where engagement with governments, investors, and businesses spanned over 30 countries to drive sustainability and innovation efforts. Celine also held director positions at Risk Management Solutions and Lighthill Risk Network, and served as a lecturer at the Columbia University Earth Institute. Educational qualifications include a Ph.D. in Climate Modelling and Policy from Columbia University, an M.Phil in Computer Modelling from Columbia University, and a B.Sc. (Hons) in Environmental Geoscience from The University of Edinburgh, among other executive education credentials.
