Kortney Opshaug has over 15 years of professional experience in engineering and operations. In 2003, they began their career as a Dynamics and Controls Engineer at Lockheed Martin Missiles and Space. In 2005, they joined Entelos, Inc. as a Biosystems Engineer. In 2008, they moved to Deep Ocean Engineering as the Director of Engineering. In 2009, they joined USRA as the Assoc. Director of Mission Operations for the SOFIA program. Since 2015, they have been the CEO and Founder of Blue Ocean Gear, a start-up company based in Northern CA that provides technology solutions for IoT tracking on the ocean.
Kortney Opshaug holds a Ph.D. in Aerospace from Stanford University, an M.S. in Aeronautics & Astronautics from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and a B.S. in Aeronautics & Astronautics from Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
