Andrew Sweet

Andrew Sweet is a Materials and Process Engineer at Blue Origin since January 2020, leading efforts in supporting valves and mechanisms across multiple engine programs. Prior experience includes a summer internship at Berkeley Engineering and Research Inc., where root cause analysis reports were prepared, and inspections for failure cases were assisted. As a researcher at Berkeley Lab from May 2017 to June 2019, Andrew evaluated various metals and enhanced imaging data quality through improved sample preparation methods. Also served as a Graduate Student Instructor at UC Berkeley, mentoring 130 students to achieve above-average exam scores. Additional research experience includes work at the University of California, Berkeley and the University of California San Diego, focusing on synthesizing materials for advanced applications. Andrew holds a Master's of Science and a Bachelor of Science in Materials Science and Engineering from UC Berkeley.
