James Hutchins

James Hutchins is an accomplished engineer with extensive experience in mechanical, materials, and structural engineering. Currently serving as a Principal Engineer at Blue Origin, James focuses on the design and development of mechanical systems for launch vehicles. James has held various engineering roles, including Senior Mechanical Engineer at Vulcan Inc., where efforts centered on developing autonomous drone technology for wildlife protection, and at Sea-Bird Electronics, where contributions included creating autonomous sea profiling platforms utilized for NASA satellite calibration. Other notable positions include Project Engineer roles at Genie Industries and Ross Industries, along with engineering positions at Zodiac Marine Group and Materials Modification Inc. James graduated with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Washington in 2010.
