Matt Hardy currently serves as the Crew Lighting Lead at Blue Origin, overseeing the design and development of external lights for a lunar lander since August 2023. Prior to this role, Matt held positions at Sierra Space as a Payload & Crew Systems Engineer and at NASA as a Mechanical Engineer, focusing on crew tools and lighting for plant research aboard the International Space Station. Matt's earlier experience includes roles as an Analog Astronaut with HI-SEAS and a Systems Engineer at Utah State University, where innovations in space lighting technology were pursued. Matt began his career at NASA in various engineering roles, including Acoustics and Propulsion Engineer. Educational qualifications include two master's degrees in Aerospace Engineering from Duke University and Mechanical Engineering from KTH Royal Institute of Technology, as well as a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Kentucky.
