Mike Kynard

Mike Kynard serves as a Senior Propulsion and Vehicle Consultant at Blue Origin since August 2021. Prior to this role, Kynard retired in January 2021 after a distinguished career at NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center, where positions included Manager of the Space Nuclear Propulsion office, Manager of the Space Nuclear Propulsion Project, and various management roles in space transportation and propulsion, including the Space Launch System Liquid Engines Element and Crew Launch Vehicle Upper Stage Engine. Kynard's extensive experience at NASA spans from January 1985 to January 2021, beginning with roles focused on the Space Shuttle Main Engine Project. An alumnus of The University of Alabama, Kynard earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from 1981 to 1987.
