Varun Boralkar

Varun Boralkar has a diverse work experience in the field of environmental solutions and waste management. Varun currently holds the position of Vice President: Strategic Business Group at Blue Planet Environmental Solutions since 2022. Prior to that, they worked at Geocycle India, where they held several roles such as Head Commercial, Head of Growth & Special Projects, Regional Sales Head & Business Head Municipal Solid Waste, and National Head Municipal Solid Waste Business & Incharge Strategy & Policy Advocacy from 2015 to 2020.

Before joining Geocycle India, Varun worked at Ramky Enviro Engineers Ltd as the Head Processing and Disposal of Municipal Solid Waste from 2013 to 2015, where they were responsible for the execution and P&L of the project. Varun also held the position of AGM-Business Development-International Business at the same company in 2012.

Prior to that, Varun served as the Business Head- Water, Waste Water & Municipal Solid Waste Management at SMS Infrastructure Ltd. from 2010 to 2012, where they focused on business development and forming strategic alliances and joint ventures.

Varun started their career at Aquatech Solutions Pvt. Ltd as an Executive Director from 2009 to 2010, where they played a key role in successful bidding of projects. Varun also pursued M.Sc. in Environmental Technology and gained expertise in environmental management systems and legislation.

Earlier in their career, Varun worked as an Engineering & Environmental Consultant at Roof Makers Steel LLC from 2006 to 2007, where they were involved in the design and construction of steel structures, as well as environmental protection projects.

Varun completed their Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering from Pune University in 2005.

Varun Boralkar has a diverse education history with a focus on environmental technology and management. Varun obtained their Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Savitribai Phule Pune University from 2000 to 2005. Subsequently, they pursued a Master's degree in Environmental Management in Business from the University of Hertfordshire, which they completed from 2005 to 2006.
