James R. Davis

Mr. Davis is a Managing Partner at Blue Sea Capital and a member of the firm’s Investment Committee. J.R. is responsible for leading and managing the firm, as well as sourcing, evaluating, executing and managing healthcare investments. Currently, J.R. serves on the Board of Directors of Apex Physics Partners, Beacon Oral Specialists, Deca Dental, MD Now Urgent Care, SignatureMD and Spectrum Vision Partners. Previously, J.R. served on the Board of Directors of DDS Lab, and NSi Industries.

Prior to founding Blue Sea Capital, J.R. was a Partner of Brockway Moran & Partners, a middle market private equity firm. During this time, J.R. served on the Board of Directors of Air Medical Group Holdings, MD Now Medical Centers and Crisis Prevention Institute, and was involved in acquisitions completed by TTM Technologies and Woodstream Corporation. Prior to Brockway Moran & Partners, J.R. was an Analyst at Code Hennessy & Simmons and a Financial Analyst in the Corporate Finance department of Salomon Brothers. J.R. previously served as a Captain in the United States Army.

J.R. is married with three sons and two daughters. In his spare time, J.R. enjoys spending time with his family, water sports, Miami Dolphins football, podcasts & reading, and is a founding Board Member of the Positive Coaching Alliance (Florida), a national non-profit developing “Better Athletes, Better People” by working to provide youth and high school athletes a positive, character-building youth sports experience.
