Erik Courtney

Erik Courtney has a diverse work experience in the field of DevOps and system administration. Erik started their career as a Windows System Administrator at Computer Guyz, where they were responsible for providing technical support and managing server and network provisioning for a school system client.

Erik then worked as a Solaris Systems Administrator at the Florida Department of Transportation, where they ensured the uptime of critical revenue-producing Solaris systems. Erik also maintained Solaris and RHEL systems, including middleware applications such as Jboss, JES, and Oracle Rac database systems.

After that, Erik joined OpenPeak as a DevOps Engineer and Linux Systems Administrator. There, they provided DevOps and Site Reliability support for OpenPeak's SAAS offering, both internally and for customer deployments. Erik also deployed, maintained, and provided production support for client deployments within their preferred cloud providers.

Erik manages a mixed environment of Windows and Linux servers, optimizes costs, and provides hosting service recommendations, including reserved capacity purchases.
