Jenna Lane

Communications Officer at Blue Shield of California Foundation

Jenna Lane is a communications officer who brings experience in journalism and public health to her work at Blue Shield of California Foundation.

Before joining the Foundation, she was a key member of the communications team that developed critical safety messages for diverse communities and positioned the San Francisco Department of Public Health (SFDPH) as a national leader in the COVID-19 pandemic response. As part of the Mental Health Reform team at SFDPH, Jenna’s work at the intersection of homelessness, substance use, and serious mental illness involved strategic counsel, public policy and narrative change, media relations, and community collaboration.

Jenna holds a bachelor's degree in anthropology-sociology from Middlebury College and a certificate in documentary field studies from the Salt Institute. An award-winning broadcast journalist, she devotes some of her free time to documentary production and the rest to enjoying traveling, food, and the outdoors with her family and friends.
